Are you confused by all the sunscreen options? With so many brands of sunscreen available in the market, selecting the right one must be difficult. This post may help you to make the proper selection.
What are Sunscreens?
Sunscreens are products combining several ingredients that help prevent the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation from reaching the skin. And SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is the measure of a sunscreen's ability to prevent UV from damaging the skin. There are two types of UV radiations UVA and UVB that causes sunburn, damages skin, and can contribute to skin cancer.

What is UVA and UVB?
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is part of the electromagnetic (light) spectrum that reaches the earth from the sun. It has wavelengths shorter than visible light, making it invisible to the naked eye. Ultraviolet A (UVA) is the longer wave UV ray that causes lasting skin damage, skinage, and can cause skin cancer. Ultraviolet B (UVB) is the shorter wave UV ray that causes sunburns, skin damage, and can cause skin cancer. There’s also a third type of ray, UVC - these are the shortest and strongest, but thankfully they’re absorbed by the ozone layer and don’t typically reach the Earth.

What is SPF?
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor and shows to what degree a product prevents sunburn. Since sunburn is caused by UVB radiation, SPF rating give no indication of how well a product will protect you from UVA radiation (responsible for skin aging and skin cancer). As sunburn is caused by UVB radiation SPF is only a measure of how much UVB is blocked. For protection against both UVA and UVB rays you will need a 'broad spectrum' product. An SPF indicates the ability of a sun protection product to filter out UVB rays. An SPF of 15 will filter out approximately 93% of UVB rays and an SPF of 30 will filter out around 96%. When choosing an SPF rating, keep in mind that doubling the SPF value doesn't mean you get double the protection. SPF 15 will block the majority of UVB rays, SPF will block more, and anything over SPF 30 doesn't really protect you much more than an SPF 30 product. An SPF of 15-30 is seen as the recommended by most health experts.

 "sunscreen" vs "sunblock"
While many people use "sunscreen" and "sunblock" interchangeably, there's a difference. Sunscreen contains chemicals that absorb UV rays before they damage the skin. Sunblock contains particles that act as a physical wall against UV rays. While sunscreen must be applied 15 minutes prior to sun exposure, sunblock begins working immediately. Dermatologists say experiment with what works best with your skin and plan accordingly.

What is good about the sun?
Talked a lot of disadvantages of sunlight, Don't be afraid there must be some good also. The light from the sun has a strong effect on mood and we know that people feel better when the sun shines. In particular, those suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder show an improvement in the summer months.

Sunlight also acts on the skin to produce vitamin D, which is essential for good health, (especially for female) in particular to maintain health bones.
How much SPF is best to my skin?
The susceptibility of an individual to skin damage from the sun depends to a great extent on their skin type. Skin typing is simply a basic way to categories the sensitivity of the skin to the sun.
Identifying your skin type will help you to decide on the level of protection necessary during sun exposure - for example, skin type I requires very high protection since the body’s inherent protection is very low and the skin is readily burnt by small amounts of UV rays.
Sunscreens should never be used in order to stay in the sun for longer.
I'm showing some more charts that will help you to decide.

Basically the more lighter your skin tone is the more SPF you need.
So how much SPF you need is solved now selecting the right sun protection according to your skin type is another problem. Hence I can suggest but it completely depends on your skins reaction or you can say trail n error method you have to follow...

For normal to Dry skin- Dry skin suppose to feel tight n flaky especially after washing face and throughout the day and this is because lac of water & natural oil in your skin. So you need more moisture and hydrating ingredients such as Aloe Vera and Glycerin etc. Go for creamy products that hydrates enough or formulas that are loaded with emollients like plant oils and fatty acid.

For normal to Combination skin- You can try almost every type of sunscreens but keep in mind that
find something that won't cause acne. I think lotions are good for you and in winters go for hydrating products.

For Normal to Oily skin- Sunscreens that won’t cause breakouts can be hard to find yet using it, is important for all the reasons mentioned above.You want something that doesn’t clog your pores, won’t irritate your skin or cause breakouts. I think Gel base sun protections are best for oily or acne prone skin at least from my own experience. But again it completely depends on the reaction of your skin. Look for lightweight sunscreens (sheer or fluid lotions) that dry down to a matte finish.

I personally like to use a sun protection with SPF 20-30. My skin is sensitive to sunscreens so I use them only when I go outside. I feel burning with high SPF containing products.
I'm using Dermabrite Fortifying Sun Care SPF30 and it is very gentle to my skin.

I remember there was a time when I didn't use to shampoo my hair daily and in those days suddenly if something was planned I failed to go or shampooing my hair at night. Because of my oily greasy hair. To avoid this so many time I thought about dry shampoo. But couldn't find. When I saw L'Oréal Professionnel launched dry shampoo in India I bought it immediately. And today I'm going to review it. L’Oréal Techni Art ‘Fresh Dust’ (Dry Shampoo)

Packaging:150ml spray bottle comes in a light weight stark white can bottle with a spray nozzle.
Application: Spray directly onto roots, mid-lengths and ends. Brush your hair to distribute evenly. If possible blow dry very lightly.
Texture: The shampoo is in powdery form without any flaky texture. A little bit chalky. Have to brush hair very well otherwise looks like dandruff.

Tip: keep at least 6 inches distance between nozzle and scalp.
My Experience: I was very exited to apply this. So 1st time I applied on shampooed hair and I found little volume which stayed that night only. Next I applied it on my usual oily scalp. And surprisingly I was not satisfied with the result. I agree it instantly makes hair feel and smell fresh but doesn't stay for long. The moment I sprayed, it was good but just after 30 minutes it was same again. 1st I tried it normally then with blow dryer but still same and that time I just thought why did I buy it God!!!! Is it the L’Oreal Professionnel!!!!???? You have already guessed my final opinion. But I would say may be I experienced it coz my hair is too much oily,limp n straight and the humidity is very high where I live(very sweaty Kolkata).  From the person I took it told me it is good and he had used it on clients for styling. So I took it but unfortunately does not work on my oily scalp. Bad luck! The final result is same as when I sprinkled baby powder to get rid of greasy hair(for temporary solution). Hahaha... after spending 900 bucks!!!

‘Facial epidermis care’ is more a matter of discipline than anything else. A experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule is what you need (and you need to follow the head treatment schedule with complete seriousness). So let’s check what comprises an effective experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule. Well, very simply, a experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule can follow the following 4 steps:
* Cleansing
* Toning
* Exfoliating
* Moisturising

Cleansing is the first thing in experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule. Washing allows in removing dust, pollutants, oil and extra oil from your epidermis, thereby preventing damage to your epidermis. Just spot your neck and experience with a good cleansing lotion or cream and gently massage it into your epidermis using in place cerebral vascular accidents. Use a soft experience tissue or cotton wool to wipe your experience in a gentle patting fashion (do not rub).  Washing should be done at least twice a day i.e. morning (as aspect of complete experience healthy epidermis treatment routine) and evening (on a standalone basis). Water soluble cleansers are the best for inclusion in your experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule.

Toning is the next in a experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule. However, this is the optionally available aspect of the head treatment schedule. Mostly, proper cleansing can compensate for ab muscles. Toning allows remove all traces of dirt, oil and excess cleanser. Instead of making it aspect of your daily experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule, you can using ab muscles occasionally i.e. when you have been exposed to particularly harsh environment/pollution.

Exfoliation is again, kind of, optionally available step in life for experience healthy epidermis treatment. However, peeling is necessary at least once a week (or twice, depending on the type of epidermis and the environmental conditions). Exfoliation finds its place in experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule because of the natural tendency of epidermis to replenish the epidermis tissues every 3 or 4 weeks. As a experience healthy epidermis treatment technique, peeling allows in removing the scalp that block the pores, thus assisting the epidermis in the natural process. However, excessive or harsh peeling can cause damage to your skin; so you need to balance it out.

The next thing in experience healthy epidermis treatment is treatment. In fact, treatment is the key to deal with healthy epidermis treatment schedule. Moisturizers prevent your epidermis from getting dry. Dry epidermis is really undesirable since it cause the upper layer epidermis to break, leading to scalp. Again, use light in place cerebral vascular accidents to make the moisturiser more effective. Moisturizers work the best when applied on warm and damp epidermis. So do not try to remove all the moisture in the previous steps of experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule.

Besides the normal experience healthy epidermis treatment schedule, you should also exercise the following for experience epidermis care:

* Use proper make-up remover instead of just washing it away
* Pay heed to your type of epidermis and the environment, when choosing experience healthy epidermis treatment products.
* Before you start using a new experience epidermis anti wrinkle cream, test it by applying it on a short patch of epidermis e.g. ear lobes.
* Never rub your epidermis too hard.
* Use sunscreen lotions for protection against sun.
‘Sensitive skin care’ is governed by a few basic rules. However, even before we delve into the rules for sensitive skin care, it’s important to understand what a sensitive skin is. Sensitive skin is one which is unable to tolerate any unfavorable conditions (environmental/other), and which easily gets irritated on contact with foreign materials (including skin care products). For this reason, some products are especially labelled as sensitive skin care products. The degree of sensitivity can however vary from person to person (and depending on that, the sensitive skin care procedures vary too).

Generally, all skin types respond negatively to detergents and other chemical based products. However, the damage starts generally beyond a defined threshold (or tolerance level). This tolerance level is very low for sensitive skin types, leading to skin getting damaged very easily and quickly.  Sensitive skin care products either avoid the potential irritants or keep them at very low concentrations.

Here are a few tips for sensitive skin care:
* Use sensitive skin care products only (i.e. the products that are marked for sensitive skin care only). Also, check the instructions/ notes on the product to see if there are specific restrictions/warnings associated with the product).
* Even within the range of sensitive skin care products, choose the one that has minimum preservatives, colourings and other additives
* Do not use toners. Most of them are alcohol based and are not recommended for sensitive skin.
* Wear protective gloves when doing laundry or other chemical based cleaning.  If you are allergic to rubber, you can wear cotton gloves below the rubber ones.
* Another important tip for ‘sensitive skin care’ is to avoid excessive exposure to sun. Apply sunscreen lotion before getting out in the sun.
* Avoiding exposure to dust and other pollutants is also important for sensitive skin care. So, cover yourself adequately before going out.
* Use hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic moisturizer as a sensitive skin care product (if there is none specifically labelled as a sensitive skin care product)
* Use soap-free and alcohol free cleansers. Cleanse your face whenever you return from spending time out doors.
* Do not scrub or exfoliate too hard. It can cause reddishness and even inflammation.
* Do not leave the makeup on for too long. Use hypoallergenic makeup- removers.

So, sensitive skin care is very different from the normal skin care. Sensitive skin care is more about being careful with your skin (both in terms of sensitive skin care products and protection against environments atrocities on skin).
